Ultrarunnning has been growing steadily for years, but the pandemic gave an extra boost to running as it was an activity that many people took up when they were told to stay home. Pair this with a few years of online registration, we see a full field this year. We are selling out within months of registration opening and needing to utilize a waitlist. The race management team worked hard to make sure every available slot was filled on race day. We see our largest starting field in 21 years this year.
We had a lot of previous runners join us this year. Some of them were tackling their 9th finish, while others are still working to get their first finish. In addition, we got to welcome Harvey Hall back onto our course after an 11 years hiatus. We first meet Harvey in 1991 on our course and we were glad to be the one to welcome him back into ultrarunning this year. See more 2022 photos on our Facebook page.
